FOR many people, fear is a debilitating part of everyday life. I’m not talking about fear that comes as a reaction to a particular event during the day – for example, a close shave on the road.
The fear I’m talking about is an irrational, generalised fear than something bad is going to happen. This type of fear seems to have no logical source and can become a part of everyday life for many people.
The good news is that through hypnosis, you can remove those illogical feelings of fear.
Hypnotherapy can help you to target fear through positive suggestion and visualisation. It can also help you to discover where the fear originates and remove it – so you are able to become free from those unnecessary thoughts.
Hypnosis, unlike other therapies, is able to do this by establishing direct contact with your subconscious – the part of your mind that controls your behaviours.
The subconscious mind’s main job is to protect you and make you happy. But sometimes it uses strategies that might have been relevant at one stage of your life – for example, exhibiting a fear response – but might now not be appropriate. In fact, that behaviour might now actually be causing you to be unhappy. The thing is, once the subconscious develops a protective strategy, it will hold on to it. And that is when we see a problem.
Using hypnosis, we can let the subconscious know the fear strategy is not working and ask it to develop a new strategy – a strategy that actually makes you happier.
One of the benefits of hypnosis is that it can produce extremely positive, life-changing results in a short amount of time. So, if you’re interested in what hypnotherapy can do for you, feel free to get in touch.
