ONE of the most effective therapies for treating anger issues is hypnotherapy. It is a powerful way of addressing the unconscious emotional responses that lead to explosive angry outbursts.

Anger is a natural, instinctive response to threats. Some anger is necessary for our survival. But anger becomes a problem when you have trouble controlling it, causing you to say or do things you regret.

A 2010 study (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3019061/) found that uncontrolled anger is bad for your physical and mental health. It can also quickly escalate to verbal or physical violence, harming you and those around you.

Hypnotherapy can identify the underlying source of anger and then help you change your thought patterns. Anger issues generally come from past traumatic experiences which become embedded in your subconscious mind.

This then can shape your behavior for the rest of your life.

Hypnotherapy has been shown to be effective in changing behaviour and this is the case with anger issues.

With the CONTROL System, we chat with you to discover the cause of the anger issue and then discuss why it might not be the best response. In a gentle hypnotic state, we can then speak directly to the part of the subconscious that is controlling your anger response and we ask it to make a change to a more beneficial response. Because your subconscious is there to protect you and make you happy, it is generally willing to make the change.

In this way, you are given control back over your behaviour and can react to triggering situations in a completely different, and much calmer, way.
